If you’re new here…welcome! If you’ve been following our adventures for awhile, thank you! I’ll start from the beginning so everyone gets caught up.
-February 2020- Our family got back from the USVI’s and fell completely in love with the islands and seeing others live on a boat! We though…could we also live on a boat?
-March 2020- COVID 19 pandemic completely locked down our lives. No work, no school for our son, no leaving the house. This gave us more time to consider boat life.
-May 2020- After tons of research, YouTube University, and boat shopping…we put an offer in on a boat!

-June 2020- We drove cross country from Colorado to St. Augustine, FL to move aboard and start getting Konstantina ready for the water.
-October 19th, 2020- Konstantina gets splashed and we sail her from St. Augustine to Stuart, FL.
-December 2020-Our first trip on the boat to the Florida Keys

-Feb 2022-Our first trip to the Bahamas
-May 7th, 2021- We arrived back in Lake Worth, FL from spending 3 months in the Bahamas
-May 9th, 2021- We took a road trip out to Colorado to surprise our family and friends
-July 15th, 2021- Off we went again, first to our New Mexico property…then back east to the boat.
-July 25th, 2021- Steve and I started working full time
-August, 11th, 2021- Our son went back to public school to complete high school
-August 2021-December 2024 Consisted of working, school, short sailing trips plus tons of improvements to Konstantina including revamping the electrical system, added radar, all new electronics, added A/C, new water heater, haulout with bottom job, rudder bearings and more.

If you were paying ANY attention to the timeline…you’ll notice that we had QUITE the stint of hanging out in Stuart, FL from August 2021-December of 2024. Wow did the time fly. I’m a bit embarrassed to say that we didn’t really get to take any decent sailing trips during that time! We did some overnights here and there, a few weekend trips to Ft. Pierce or down to West Palm, but that was about the extent of our trips due to work and school restrictions. If you’ve followed us on other social media (like Patreon, TikTok or Instagram) you might have gotten to see some of our adventures! What can I say? Life took over. We got sucked back into the rat-race routine and I have to say….I was OVER it (again!) We all had jobs, Cody started working at a marina at age 15, and of course, Steve was busy being a Captain and sailing folks all around so he did get to travel a bit. I was stuck in corporate America for most of my working life here in Stuart. Fast forward to December 2024…Cody graduated High School early (that’s my boy!!!!!) and is still working hard. Steve and I were also still working full time but at that time we were in a MAJOR transition period.

Cody turned 18 in May 2025 and was considering joining the ARMY but is now thinking of becoming a sheriff’s officer. I stopped working in April of 2025 and Steve still has a few jobs as a Captain. And now…I’m a Captain! I received my 25T Master License from the Chapman School of Seamanship in July of 2025, and recently sent in my request for a 50T upgrade.

In August 2025, Cody moved out of the boat (that was a hard time for me!) and we were empty nesters. September 2025 started our “forever journey” and we first went to Fort Pierce for another haul out and bottom paint. After that, we continued our trek north along the East Coast to see how far we could get before it got to cold for us. That turned out to be Murrells Inlet, SC (at that time, the farthest north we’d been on Konstantina)! Once we got there, we had some propeller issues and stayed in a wonderful marina there for a few weeks while we got it fixed. Afterward, we headed back south to the warmth. Little did we know that we would be getting some of the WORST cold fronts Florida has seen in awhile!We spent the holidays with Cody back in Stuart and then around Jan., 6th, 2026 we headed south to the Florida Keys for a few months. What fun that was, as we travelled as far south and west as our boat has ever been (with us at least) to the Dry Tortugas!

We spent two months in the Keys and in March came back north to Stuart to prepare for a boat delivery trip. We were contracted to take a 2026 Riviera 6000 SY up to Petoskey, MI. What a trip that was! I learned so much along the way and everything I learned in school made so much sense now. I am really glad I took that course. The entire trip from Stuart, FL to Petoskey, MI was about 2,000nm and we did it in 19 days. What a whirlwind! Our route took us up the ICW (or in Atlantic Ocean when safe) up the Erie Canal, north up the Oswego Canal, south down the Welland Canal, then up through Lake Erie and Lake Huron to Lake Michigan.
When we flew back to Stuart after the delivery, we prepared Konstantina for another trek north. This time, Our sights were on visiting friends in Rhode Island. And as I write this, we are on a mooring ball near Narragansett, RI! It took about a month to get up here, from June 11th to July 17th. Now our plans are to hang out with friends, fly Cody up for a short time (he just got HIS Captain’s License), and then around Mid-August…sail south again exploring places we didn’t get to see on the way up. One place in particular we hope to spend some time in is the Chesapeake Bay. We’ve always wanted to attend the sailboat show there and now is the best time for us!
